This course covers all the requirements of the DEFRA Module 1 (Water Safety Awareness) along with the requirements of ‘Annex H‘ where non emergency services staff need to be trained in self rescue in the water. The course is for staff who may work near water at risk of needing to self-rescue.

- Generic open-water hazards
- Land-based rescue techniques
- PPE and aquatic clothing
- Effects of cold water
- Moving in shallow water
- Self-rescue
