Developed and accredited by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) this one-day course covers all the usual first aid subjects, but from a boating perspective. It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on cross channel passages.
As well as traditional first aid subjects this course includes use of a ‘Cat C’ First Aid kit specific to boats operating in certain environments – this kit contains a number of medications.
This course is MCA approved and satisfies the requirements for Coastal Skipper Yachtmaster and Advanced Powerboat certificates of competence and some commercial work afloat.
The RYA First Aid course must be delivered by an appropriately qualified instructor at a recognised RYA Training Centre – we work with Datchet Water Sailing Club, the Little Ship Club and Thames Boat Training to deliver our RYA First Aid Courses.
You’ll usually find a selection of RYA First Aid listed on our ‘Open Courses’ page
